Each spring, the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve comes alive with the seasonal surprises of the Mojave Desert Grassland habitat. The duration and intensity of colors and scents vary from year to year.
Apollo Community Regional Park, named in honor of the Apollo 11 astronauts, was dedicated in 1972 and features three man-made lakes. The 54-acre park hosts three fishing derbies every year, two for adults and one for youth, with prizes awarded for the biggest catch.
